Digging through old pictures I found this. It has nothing to do with anything other than I like it.
This is when my wife and I were stuck waiting for a train because the pass was closed for snow.

A not so great picture from a slightly different angle.
Was a fire up there in 2011, the train tracks run through that shed you see on fire there.

my wife and I were doing the Rallarvegen on bikes with my mother in laws cousin (a native) but we weren't very well equipped for the trip and the weather got nasty on us, so we hopped on the train to Myrdal and stayed at the Vatnahalsen before biking down into Flam. Flam is the biz.

nice! I almost bought a river house like this with my father some years ago. Looks like the design, but it was deep in the woods. We didnt pull the trigger because you couldnt get in with the mud pit that the driveway was in the spring. Probably why it was so damn cheap too...80K with 200 ft of frontage or so

My granpa built this in the 1950's based on plans he bought and then modified (its a tipple a frame but the plans were for a regular), My brothers and my sister own and manage is together now. I love it much.
View from the porch.

it is fantastic, especially if your siblings are in harmony about managing it. Too many times I see family politics get special places like that put on the market, and you cannot replace it and the memories had and yet to be for all the money

Its not easy, but we are all onboard for now. We are actually in the process of planning a 2500 sq foot addition that's just rooms for expansion since right now there are 5 large families and only 4 bedrooms (if you can call them that). FYI - My grandma made is explicitly clear that this cabin was for keeping old friends and making news ones and so its regularly filled with guests from all walks of life so if you are even near Garden City, UT give me a shout and you have a place to stay.
